Sŵn Festival has been Cardiff and Wales’ premiere inner city music festival for over a decade and our relationship has been just as consistent. Throughout our time as a video production company we’ve produced highlights, live sessions and even a BAFTA Cymru nominated documentary for S4C about and for the festival.

In 2022 we were asked back again to produce their festival highlights film.
The brief… a short, sharp, energetic film that features the diversity of Sŵn’s diverse acts. With a blow by blow schedule, the team set out with a collection of cameras to capture as much of the action as possible.
The goal was to shoot experimentally, using crystal filters, photo bursts and a camcorder. These practical and interesting visuals made for exciting filming and meant we could match the energy of whichever act we were watching with engaging effects.
For the Sŵn 22 edit, rising Cardiff rapper Minas’ rowdy Payday made the perfect soundtrack. The crunching industrial drums worked to embolden fast-paced cuts and glitchy effects, really capturing the DIY feel of the festival.
The film was released alongside the release of tickets for Sŵn 23.
